  Wow, this Peets coffee house, hands down, wins the worse Retail Customer Service award of the year!
  
  Here's my story .... I had a customer coupon card that should have given me a free complimentary cup of coffee at Peets, and yes, it's been in my wallet for a while, maybe a long while. When I eventually presented this card to the Barista, she calmly smiled at me and stated that they no longer accept these complimentary cards at Peets, and without blinking an eye, torn-up that card in front of me, threw it in the bin, and asked me to pay.
  
  Again ... WOW ... Worse retail customer service ever experienced!
  
  What's the point in handing out these loyalty cards for a complimentary coffee/ tea in the first place? ... To gain customer loyalty and brand affinity? ... going out on a limb here ... I think maybe yes?
  
  But then, to tear it up in front of a customer and trash it? How does that inspire brand loyalty? ... to be honest here and I'm talking to Peet's Coffee & Tea Corporate Execs ... it causes the exact opposite effect, your customer loyalty takes a nose dive, big-time! ... Me, well I'm going to Starbucks for my next cup o' joe.
  
  BTW I ask the Barista to take the card out of the thrash so I could take a quick pic'.
